EQUIPMENT TRAINING AND ACCESS CERTIFICATION

Note: Training on Equipment in the Clean Room can be performed in parallel with the Access Protocol Steps but no one will receive access to that equipment until they have completed all Access Protocol steps and have become a Registered Clean Room Member with an active account number. Please do not request access or final certification until you have done so.

1. Please first seeGeoff Goold to discuss your process and equipment needs. Then after a tool set has been determined that best supports your process you may begin training with a Mentor from your Professor's Group. If you need help in finding a Mentor or someone to help with your training please contact the Super User for that specific piece of equipment. A Super User List can be found here.

2. Continue to train on the equipment until you and your Mentor feel you are ready for Certification and when you have completed the Access Protocol, contact the Super User in order to set up an appointment for certification.

3. After successfully completing the Certification for Access to a piece of equipment the Super User will send a note to the Clean Room Staff in which you will be carbon copied on. At that point you must bring your Columbia ID card and a valid account number from your Professor to Geoff Goold in order to gain access.
